Ignore It
The number one dream killer is our thoughts. When formulating our dreams, we hear a tiny voice in our head that tells us that we may never accomplish the goal. It tends to quietly tell us what we can't do, which then creates self-doubt. Before you know it, we have sabotaged our dreams before we come close to achieving it. To prevent this, we have to do an action. IGNORE IT.
It's easier said than done. right? Ignoring the negative thoughts is something that you will have to train your brain to do. When the negative thoughts start creeping in, you have to consciously cancel those ideas. By canceling them and rerouting your feelings to a positive thought, this will prevent you from lingering on the negativity that your self-conscience is trying to focus on.
You are going to do fine despite the harassment from the little voice in your mind.
Acknowledge Your Strengths and Focus on Them
When preparing and organizing your dreams and goals, it is simple for us to focus on what we need to do. We even focus on the characteristics we need to gain, to become a particular personality we feel we need to be. We regularly get lost in the "what ifs." We forget to acknowledge our strengths. Doing this will often have us feeling like we aren't good enough.
We have to retrain our mind and our thought process. Going forward, focus on what you bring to the table. If you are unsure of what your strengths are, get out a pen, notebook, and find a quiet place. Sit down and think about your life and the moments you felt proud and write them down. Keep the journal with you, and when you think about something you are good at, write it down. Start your day off by telling yourself what your strengths are. This will empower you and give you the power and confidence to get you through the day.
Stop focusing on what you lack and bring light and celebrate your internal strength. Once your advantages are your focal point, you will feel the power you hold on the inside, which will transpire to the outside and impact your dreams.
Stop Chasing Perfection
Perfection- It doesn't exist. In a society that portrays a picture-perfect lifestyle. We feel like every single detail has to be perfect and in order before we can launch or get started. The more you chase perfection, the more you will be disappointed. I promise nothing will ever be 100% perfect. You will waste time stressing waiting for the perfect moment. Sometimes, you have to do as much as you can to prepare and jump out there. Don't wait till everything is perfect because that time will never come.
Learn and Grow Every Day
Knowledge is power. Acknowledge, understand, and accept the fact that you will not know everything in life. Despite the “know it alls” out there, nobody knows 100% of everything. To be the best, you have to be open to gain more knowledge. You can gain knowledge and understanding through multiple avenues; not just a book. Podcasts are a viable source. Take time to find a podcast around any topic that interests you. Social Media is also an excellent platform to use to gain more knowledge. I challenge you to take 30 minutes a day and find a person that you inspire you. Go through their friend's list to see who they follow. You will stumble across a lot of inspiring people by doing so.
Stop Comparing Yourself with Others
Life is a journey; your path and experiences are not going to be the same as someone else. The most detrimental thing to do is to compare where you are right now to someone else. You do not know the pain, struggle, and sacrifices that the next person went through to get where they are. So the best thing to do is to think about your own journey. As long as you are consistent and you put your all in what you are doing, you will be successful. You are not in competition with anyone.
